Moment Distribution Method is one of the oldest and finest methods of finding the end moments within a struture. This method was invented by Hardy Cross, a Structural Engineer who got her education from world famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) in 1930. This findings of moments distribution was published in ASCE journal and became the most popular and widely used method of solving statically indeterminate structures both beams and frames. This spectacular method of finding the end moments consider only the flexural effects and ignores the axial and shear effects.
